Christian Nicolas

After high school in the Netherlands, Christian attended Bennington College in Vermont. From there he transferred to the Architectural Association in London. During his year out, he worked for Ken Yeang in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Back at the AA, a collaborative experimental photographic project prompted exhibitions in London, Berlin, Jerusalem, New York, as well as a book. Diploma projects included postwar recovery strategies for Sarajevo, and an innovative short-stay accommodation concept for London's banking district.

During his studies in London he worked on numerous residential conversions. Christian then moved to Rotterdam, where he gained experience working with architects and urban planners. He has contributed to built and un-built projects including town hall and office interiors, street furniture, a health center, housing, and urban master plans in the Netherlands and China. He is a registered architect in the Netherlands. Christian is also a photographer, and an occasional filmmaker.

In 2005 he moved to New York, and promptly joined Turett Collaborative Architects.
