Boutique Y3K is a new global e-commerce and e-marketing consulting firm specializing in fashion, entertainment, media and luxury goods and services. Boutique Y3K turned to TCA to create a 6,000 square foot office space in New York City's fashion district that would bring together their edgy sense of style and their forward-focused business approach.
Flexibility was a priority for Boutique Y3K. In addition to work and meeting space, Boutique Y3K needed to accommodate frequent in-house special events including presentations, product launches and receptions. TCA responded by creating a large, open reception area that can beceasily expanded. The reception area is greatly increased in size when dividers separating the adjacent conference room are removed. The office includes a think tank for intimate staff meetings, a pantry server room and a lounge that also functions as a research library.
The office interior is boldly contemporary. Color-coded walls are painted intense orange, chartreuse and deep blue. Floors are finished with a clear coating on top of concrete. Frosted acrylic panels enclose private office space while still permitting natural light to penetrate into the interior space. TCA's modular furniture system, Carica, is utilized to turn a generous, loft-like space into separate yet open workstations for staff. The TCA-designed conference table has a top made of white enameled steel. Meeting participants are encouraged to express their thoughts on the write on/wipe off surface. A steel 'pen truck' zips up and down the 10-foot table carrying markers and erasers. From the space to the furniture, TCA's design creates a dynamic and playful atmosphere that conveys the contemporary stylishness of Boutique Y3K.
The Boutique Y3K office project was completed on schedule and on budget at a cost of approximately $75 per square foot.
