Client: America Restaurant

TCA designed the America restaurant in Las Vegas for Ark Restaurant group, one of the country's most prestigious and innovative foodservice firms. There at the 2,000-room New York New York resort, the designers took the theme of America at its most campy, and created huge, oversized, 50's style postcard graphics along with large, brightly colored topographical maps. Three different kinds of banquettes were specified, along with tables and chairs that can be freely arranged, and different ceiling heights also contribute to a sense of differentiation in the various dining spaces. The maps, postcard blow-ups and vividly colored upholstery fabrics were an entirely inventive, over-the-top approach, but very appropriate for Las Vegas. It proved extremely popular – and profitable - as a dining venue, even with the intense competition in that destination city.
