Residence, Shelter Island, NY

Project Description

Client: Shelter Island Residence

What looked like a typical 60’s cape turned out to be one of the oldest houses on the island, Covered in asbestos shingle and many layers of asphalt roof, this house was stripped down to the studs (still had bark) and rebuilt with new foundations, and masonry fireplace. Not a historic restoration but historically sensitive. On an acre and a half, the project was developed to sell.
