NEWSSTAND COLOMBUS AVENUE

Newstand was designed during a time of dramatic transformation in the city. The main theme behind it’s design was to see the newstand as ‘information center’ and not just a retail outlet.  The goal was to blend a mixture of old and new in order to interfuse itself with the habitat and community surrounding it.

In 1983, Newstand won the highly acclaimed City Art Commission Award for Excellence in Urban Design award.
