For this Upper East Side penthouse, Architects Wayne Turett and James Saisakorn collaborated with the client to design the ultimate designer bathroom suite. This collaboration became a remarkable example of the lengths that an architect can go to fully realize their design aspirations. Wayne and our client traveled to the town of Vals in the Swiss Alps to experience an amazing spa and to handpick the stone for the bathroom from a remote quarry. Together, they created a one-of-a-kind work of art.
This luxurious bathroom suite also contains a state of the art shower of the future. Encircled by switchable privacy glass, the glass panels have the ability to be completely translucent or opaque at the flip of a switch. A 20 foot high stone clad wall forms the backbone of the entire apartment and is visible through the glass.
