Wayne Quoted in The New York Times on Skylights and Urban Daylight

Our principal, Wayne Turett, was recently quoted in The New York Times in a feature on innovative skylight design in urban homes.


In the article, Wayne discusses the technical requirements behind walkable skylights, including the use of laminated structural glass, and explains why skylights are such an effective way to introduce daylight in dense city conditions. As he notes, while buildings are often “shoehorned between other buildings,” skylights “always face the sky,” bringing natural light deep into spaces where traditional windows are limited.


The project referenced in the article is our North Moore Residence in TriBeCa, where walkable skylights set into a terrace above allow daylight to filter into the interior below.
