This interior design project for an Upper East Side apartment reimagines a 1959 Classic Six residence as a sophisticated contemporary home tailored to the lifestyle of its owners. Beginning with a complete rethinking of a floor plan that had remained largely unchanged since the 1970s, The Turett Collaborative created interiors that balance openness, comfort, and understated elegance.

The redesigned layout softens the traditional separation between rooms, allowing the kitchen to connect more naturally with the surrounding living spaces while a secondary bedroom functions as an open den, introducing a loft-like sense of flexibility. Throughout the apartment, a thoughtful composition of materials, furnishings, and artwork creates interiors that feel calm, inviting, and distinctly personal, resulting in a home that brings a fresh contemporary perspective to a classic Upper East Side residence.
